Food & Drinks Cocktail Swimming Kids

It was a lazy Sunday in Curaçao when we decided to go out on a date to one of the fanciest hot spots in Curaçao that we heard so much about: Saint Tropez Ocean Club. We dressed up for the occasion in our favorite swimwear and coolest sunglasses. Upon arrival on the hip and happening Pietermaai strip there was a parking spot right in front of the entrance. This made us feel like total VIPs right away. Saint Tropez Ocean Club is very high-end, but has a very welcoming and open atmosphere. We found a cozy spot at the ocean front next to the infinity pool, where we enjoyed cocktails in the sun and felt like absolute royalty.

Getting there

Saint Tropez Ocean Club is located on the Pietermaai strip close to Punda. This ocean front bar and restaurant with pool is 9 km from Villa Leoni and takes approximately 24 minutes to reach by car. There is ample parking space along the side of the road. The club is open on a walk-in basis, but it does not hurt make a reservation if you want to be sure that there is a table available for you.

Infinity pool

We were happily surprised how family friendly Saint Tropez is. The kids had loads of fun in the large infinity pool. They brought their own floaties and diving goggles, which was no problem at all. There are cosy seating arrangements all around the pool for parents to enjoy some quality time together, while the kids are having fun in the water close by. There is a fee for using the pool of 50 ANG for adults and 15 ANG for children. An additional fee is charged for using a sunbed or a cabana. Since we only used the pool for two rounds of drinks, the staff was kind enough to waive our pool fee. A very chique gesture. It was one of many ways in which the staff are all very attentive to your needs and the quality of your experience as a guest.

Cocktails

In this epicenter of luxury in Curaçao we expected the price of a cocktail to be much higher than elsewhere, but the pricing was not much different from most beach bars on the island. Moreover, the quality of the cocktails was top-notch. We tried the Mojito, which was perfect, the Caipirinha and the Porn Star Martini. We wanted to try the Saint Tropez Sparkling with vodka, lychee licquor, cranberry juice and prosecco, but some of the ingredients were out of stock. We will be back to try it another time! The kids got served two different mocktails, one even tastier than the other. It was adorable how the waiter came back to genuinely ask them for their feedback on the mocktails. It made them feel important and valued as guests.

Special days

The waiter also kindly informed us that Friday is the designated party night at Saint Tropez. These club nights are very popular and usually lead to long queues of guests eager to join the party. It is also possible reserve a dinner table on party nights, so you can hit the dancefloor right after dinner without having to stand in line. Mondays are cocktail days with big discounts on cocktails. In addition, Venezuelan chefs will come over to prepare fresh sushi on Mondays. Definitely one for the to-do list! Check out the video below to get an impression of our experience at Saint Tropez Ocean Club.

Pasawá Box Eatery opened its doors in July 2023 and immediately became an immensely popular culinary hotspot on the east side of Curaçao. At Pasawá you can enjoy local food from a variety of restaurants surrounding a buzzing central plaza with a huge bar in the center. The bar serves amazing cocktails and great coffee. It is at the base of the building’s impressive central tower that features huge televisions all around playing live sports games, a DJ booth and a 360 degrees curved digital display at the top. Pasawá Box Eatery is almost completely constructed with shipping containers, but you will hardly notice, because every inch of them has been hand-painted by local artists. If it was not for the delicious smell of food, you would almost think you were visiting a museum.

We understand the concerns that may hold you back from trying scuba diving: the unfamiliarity of breathing underwater, handling the equipment, and worries about the costs.
